Preparing for Couple's Night Out

The 99 Orphans team members have been working really hard for the Couple's Night Out to be a success, insha Allah.  We will be having a wide age range of kids (from ages 0-10) so we're doing a lot of organizing and managing to make sure that all of the children are well taken care of and have a good time.  Through detailed schedules and supply lists, we are working to make the Couples Night Out an efficient and fun event for everyone involved.  Below is a sample schedule we have been working on for the event.  We are hoping to efficiently divide up the kids into different groups, which we need to do prior to the event which is why we need all the registration forms in as soon as possible.

Of course, this schedule does not include the babies and young toddlers who will be in a separate room with their own age-appropriate toys and activities.

And, as always, throughout our planning, we must never forget that the purpose of this event is to help those who never have the care of their parents.

Please support us in our efforts to help orphans around the world.  Who is willing to match the proceeds we receive from this event for orphans?

Rania's Bakery

I am starting a bakery in which I will be selling cupcakes. I sold little previews at our last 99 orphan meeting and sold out all the cupcakes. I also sold some at the masjid after jummah prayer.  The money raised is going to support orphans and foster children in Delaware.  You will soon get to order cupcakes online for parties and gatherings with lots of special options.

Upcoming Events

The date has been changed for the Couple's Night Out Babysitting event to May 3rd. The link for the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cyXfip8S7U. Another thing to also remember is that kids who are coming to this event must be registered before the event.  Contact us at delaware@zakat.org to get the registration form by email or to request us to send them by mail.  Other events are the Boys' Video game party on April 26th, and the collection for the foster children.  We were able to collect tons of stuff and I'm sure the kids will be very happy and grateful towards the donors. We will be making our first drop-off this Thursday, but the collection will still be going on. Alhamdulillah, during the Rare Disease Day event on Saturday the 99 Orphan members were able to set up tables and were able to let people know about the Couple's Night Out Babysitting while giving out registration forms.

Coming Soon - Phoenix

In the Visual Arts Committee, we are making a book about a super hero called Phoenix. We designed him and he came from the sun. We are now designing the logo and the main bad guy. Then we will write the story.  It will take a couple of weeks to finish the first book of the series. We are hoping to sell the book to get money for orphans.

Couple's Night Out Date Change

Assalamaualaikum!

This is an exciting message to all those who were interested in participating in the Couple's Night Out event.  The 99 Orphan team has decided to change the date to Saturday, May 3rd.  Because many families will be out of town during the spring break, many of you who want to join our wonderful event might not be able to.

So...be prepared to have an exciting Saturday evening out with your spouse while your kids are well taken care of at the ZF Center.  Don't miss out on this chance to have a special break while helping out orphans at the same time.

Registration is required so secure a spot for your kids today by emailing nrkose@gmail.com or calling 302-533-2334.  You can also come to the ZF Center to get a registration form.  Fees are due with the registration forms ($10 per child from ages 0-10 years).

We're looking forward to this event and we hope that you are, too!

Couples Night Out!!

On the 26th of April from 4-7 pm the 99 Orphan members want to give the parents of kids between the ages of newborn-10 year olds a break. We will have fun games, activities, and snacks for the little ones to enjoy while you and your spouse have a relaxing evening together without any stress of what your kids might be up to. Their will be adult supervision and also a CPR card holder present for the entire evening. The best part is that all this is only costs the parents $10 per child, and all proceeds will go directly to  helping orphans all around the world. In order for this to be a dream come true parents are required to register their kid/kids earlier in advance, limited number of kids are admitted. Parents are able to relax and have a great time with their spouse while their kids are left under the care of responsible young adults.

What's New?

Yesterday's meeting was a whirl of excitement and ideas.  But then...what meeting isn't?!  We discussed comic books, a video about a stolen watch, Legos, and Winnie the Pooh!  You must be wondering what those things have to do with orphans or if maybe we're getting sidetracked in our tasks.  But, in fact, all of the above are parts of upcoming ideas to raise money for orphans.  You'll have to find out the details later in the week as members from each committee report about our efforts.

I can't write much else because the secretary is complaining that I write about everything there is to write about and there's nothing left for her to write.  So I guess I should close off and leave you in suspense for a while.

I just want to give a big thank you to all those who donated gifts for Delaware foster children.  With so many awesome supplies (books, crayons, and toys), we'll need to get another box to keep the stuff!  Please keep bringing in items to help Delaware's deprived children.

So far for this year we have sponsored 13 orphans thanks to all our donors. We have events planned for the future that we hope you will participate in to help us raise more money. You can check out our progress page to see how much money we have raised so far and how much money we still have to raise in order to reach our goal of sponsoring 99 orphans by the end of this year.

What's Coming Up?

Our meeting yesterday was very exciting and productive, alhamdulillah.  With each committee focused on a separate job, we were able to get a lot done.

We are pleased to announce that we have begun an effort to help foster children in Delaware in addition to our 99 orphans.  We are collecting coloring books, crayons, books, toys, and duffel bags and will give these gifts to the less fortunate children in Delaware.  We are grateful to those who have already brought donations to the center.  Please remember to bring new items.

We have two separate events planned this month, insha Allah.  The first is still in the processing stage and will be announced once it's confirmed.  Believe me when I say it's totally exciting!  And while we let you live in suspense for a while...

The 99 Orphan Team is pleased to announce...Couple's Night Out, on Saturday, April 26th.  This will be an excellent opportunity for parents to enjoy a few hours to themselves while we take care of your kids.  Spots are limited, so register now!

We hope you and your children will look forward to this event with the same intensity that we are.  Don't hesitate to contact us for any further information.

Thank you for supporting us in our efforts to help orphans.
